We missed Skim Distance during icy December tours and Skim Dex in the summer gales of Stockholm's archipelago. An expedition boat and a play boat. Different, but then again not.
One with extreme directional stability, that was fast getting up to speed and with a lot of paddling feel. With a wind cheating profile but yet able to carry an efficient pack on the two week winter tour. And one with a tight fit. That quickly brought you to the waves and was easy to roll and surf.
Both without unnecessary bulk and focused on contact. Kayaks that were responsive and had a crisp and stable turn when edged. That were thought through in every detail, designed and developed by paddlers in Sweden. For Swedish weather, throughout the year. Boats that were wise but fun to paddle. And also fun to look at. We missed them then, but not anymore.
